Plan:
Day 2
Forms (Bottom to Top)
One-Steps (Add 16 - 20)
Self-Defense (Add Green Belt)
Another productive lesson. Forms have shown much improvement - Gabe is working on them outside of our normal time. We are up to speed on one-steps & only require more practice to have them down. Lastly, self-defense added Green Belt (Lapel grabs).
Forms
1) Chun-Ji
---One run through of this form. No count.
---Looking good.
2) Dan-Gun
---One run through of this form. No count.
---Very good. Some minor stance work but no problems.
3) Do-San
---Two run throughs of this form. No count.
---Some minor catches in the top part of the form. Easily corrected.
4) Won-Hyo
---Two run throughs of this form. No count.
---Looking good. Transition to the front stance - circular block needs some work.
5) Yol-Guk
---Two run throughs of this form. No count.
---In good shape. Some tweaks here & there, but no problems that stand out.
6) Choong-Gun
---Three run throughs of this form. No count.
---Some work needed coming back down the line. Very good in the first 1/2.
7) Toi-Gye
---Two run throughs of this form. No count.
---In some ways, better than Choong-Gun. Some work at the end but good otherwise.
8) Hwa-Rang
---Three run throughs of this form. No count.
---In good shape. Some stance work needed & turns at top need some time.
One-Steps
---Ran through 1 - 15. Minor issues on 12, 13, 14 but still in good shape.
---Introduced 16 - 20. Good so far. 17, 18 need the most work. Time will fix this.
Self-Defense
1) White belt
---Looking strong due to tons of experience with wrist grabs.
2) Yellow belt
---Chokes coming along nicely. No issues.
3) Orange belt
---Hair grabs are solid. No noticeable work needed.
4) Green belt
---Introduced tonight.
---Will need time to memorize but the knowledge/experience is already there.
Training was approximately 1 hour, 15 minutes. Class flow is strong because Gabe is practicing outside of this time & showing improvement on each form & technique with every lesson.
Next class, we will continue on forms; work on 1 - 20 for one-steps & introduce Blue belt for self-defense. I think we can have Gabe do a few forms on his own (without me doing them beside him) by Day 2 of Week 3. Chun-Ji to Do-San are ready for this.

It sounds like things are progressing quite nicely.
It's great to have Gabe back.
